Recipe: Appetizing Aloo Dum Delicious, fresh and tasty.

Aloo Dum. The Bengali Aloo Dum Recipe is a delicious recipe of potatoes that are simmered in spicy tomato onion garlic and a yogurt gravy. Aloo Dum also known as Dum Aloo is a delicious spicy and tangy recipe that is a favorite at home. Dum aloo recipe with stovetop & Instant pot instructions.

Dum translates to steam cooked & aloo to potatoes.

This is one of the favorite recipes of my mother and my husband.

It is nice combination with paratha or Indian puree.

You can have Aloo Dum using 10 ingredients and 1 steps. Here is how you achieve that.

Ingredients of Aloo Dum

  1. You need 5 medium of Potatoes.

  2. Prepare 1 small of Onion.

  3. You need 1 bunch of Spring onion.

  4. It’s 1 small of Carrot.

  5. It’s 2 small of Green chillie.

  6. It’s 1/4 pinch of Salt.

  7. Prepare 1/2 tsp of Pepper powder.

  8. Prepare 1 1/2 tsp of Chillie course.

  9. It’s 1/4 tsp of Turmeric powder.

  10. It’s 5 of Egg.

Aloo Dum instructions

  1. Boil 4 eggs separetly n keep aside,

Boil the potatoes separetly,n peel the skin n put it in a bowl n add the diced carrot ,chopped spring onions,onions n green chillies,add turmeric powder,pepper powder,chillie course ,salt n 1 egg n mix it

Take the boiled egg n cover with this batter ,n deep fry it

This aloo dum is best made from Natun Potatoes or fresh winter potatoes.

Make sure to add salt while boiling the potatoes so that they are seasoned from inside as.

The Nepali Aloo Dum was part of the deshi lunch I made.

The platter was having Bengali Ghee Bhat, Roti, Deshi Murgir Dum, Nepali Aloo Dum, Tomato Amsotto Khejur Chutney and Gajar Ka Halwa.
