Sadhya (Malayalam: സദ്യ) is a feast of Kerala origin and of importance to all Malayalis, consisting of a variety of traditional vegetarian dishes usually served on a banana leaf in Kerala as lunch.
There will be two types of pickle in any onam sadhya for sure and this is the sour lemon pickle to add some zest to your taste buds.

Saute the ginger,garlic and half the onions in 3 tbsps of oil. When dried up and it has turned brown and half fried,add the chillie powder,take out from fire,cool and grind to a soft paste adding water if required..

Now heat one tbsp of oil in a pan. Splutter the mustard seed. Add the coconut sliced to very small pieces.When it is slightly brown,add one tbsp of onions,curry leaves and when the onions turn brown and crispy,add one tbsp of the tamarind extract (depending on the thickness of the syrup)followed by the ginger-chillie gravy, already prepared.
