This is called Chana Dal Puri but it's actually made as stuffed paratha.

Chana dal poori made on Dussehra (Vijayadashami), Holi, wedding, during winter or on any auspicious occasion or celebration.

This is one of family's favorite dal puri made with minimal ingredients.

Chana Dal Ki Poori step by step

  1. Soak the chana dal overnight or at least for 4 hours. Remove its water..

  2. Heat a pan put green chilli, garlic salt and cumin seeds to it saute for 2 minutes. Now add chana dal and turmeric powder and 1/2 cup of water to it. And cook until the dal becomes soft..

  3. Let it cool. Now put cooked dal in a grinder and grind them to make a fine paste..

  4. Now take the weather flour add salt and oil to it. Mix well. Add little water to it and make a soft dough..

  5. Now make a small ball from the dough. And put the stuffing in it and cover it by making small balls. And roll it..

  6. Now cook it partially on tawa from both sides..

  7. Now heat the oil on high flame. And fry the partially cooked poori from both sides..

  8. Chana dal poori is ready..

Poori can be best relished with Pumpkin vegetable.

This preparation of Bharwan (stuffed) Poori (you may also call it as parantha) is very healthy too.

Chana dal is soaked overnight and then pressure cooked.
