My mom used to prepare this soup when we were kids.

My Kala chana soup or black chickpea soup is more like an Indian version of minestrone soup.
It has celery, carrots, green beans and garlic, some fire-roasted tomatoes and vegetable broth.

Soak black chane for 8 hours.

In cooker add water and black chane.

Boil till 8 to 10 whistles.

Strain it.

I had this first time at my in-laws place in Patiala as this soup is a specialty of Patiala and this is made using the boiled water of Black chickpeas (Kala Chana) and served with few drops of lemon juice, fresh chopped onion and coriander along with some boiled.
Heat the oil in a soup pot over medium heat and brown the bones well.
Add the onion, carrot, celery and garlic.
Add the tomatoes, bay leaf, thyme, drained chickpeas and wine, and add enough water to cover by about an inch.
