  3. In a pan,heat 2 tbsp gheeor oil,add 1tsp mustard seeds.

  4. Now add cumin seeds along with chanadal and 1tsp urad dal..

  5. Fry till they begin to brown a bit.add cashews..

  6. Now add finely chopped onions.salute the onions..

  7. Add the chopped green chillies,ginger,curry leaves.salute for a min..

  8. Add water to the mixture.

  9. Add salt as required.

  10. Bring water to boil.add rava and stir immediately.

  11. Cover and allow the rava upma tp steam for 2 min on the low flame.

  12. Last 2tbsp chopped coriander leaves.

I have never thought of making Instant upma mix & Podi recipes at home until Sendhil travelled to Norway for an official trip last year.

Usually he used to take store bought instant noodles, ready to eat upma mix, pongal mix, paruppu podi/Dal powder, Vathakuzhambu paste from Sakthi masala, Aachi or MTR products.
