Recipe: Perfect Chana kabab Delicious, fresh and tasty.

Chana kabab. This kabab is a familiar North Indian snack made with potatoes, Kala chana, and some mild spices. If you are not familiar with Kala chana, it refers to Black chickpeas, and chickpeas are a mainstay of Indian cuisine. Kala chana kabab is an appetising and protein-rich snack.

Kababs or kebabs are a popular Indian snack.

My kids did not like pulses but I make sure that they get all protein and minerals.

So, I prepared these Kababs by grinding chickpeas into a paste and by adding little spices.

You can cook Chana kabab using 8 ingredients and 11 steps. Here is how you achieve it.

Ingredients of Chana kabab

  1. It’s 1 cup of Desi chana (Chickpeas)soaked.

  2. Prepare 5 of potatoes boiled peeled and mashed.

  3. You need to taste of salt and red chili powder.

  4. It’s 1 tbsp of Bread crumbs.

  5. You need 1 tsp of Chaat masala.

  6. You need 1 tsp of amchoor( dry mango) powder.

  7. It’s As required of Oil for frying.

  8. Prepare 1 tbsp of Cornflour.

Chickpeas are also known as Kabuli Chana, garbanzo beans.

Soak chick peas overnight and pressure cook them till they are soft.

Add the crushed Jeera and once they turn brown add the asafetida powder.

Pressure cook channa with the ingredients of list A in sufficient water till done.

Chana kabab instructions

  1. Soak desi chana for 6-8 hours..

  2. Then grind them coarsely..

  3. Boil potatoes..

  4. Mix grinded chane and mashed potatoes..

  5. Heat oil meanwhile..

  6. Make a paste of cornflour in water..

  7. In chana potato mix add all spices and salt..

  8. Make kabab of desired shape and dip in cornflour paste and cover it with bread crumbs..

  9. Now fry them in hot oil..

  10. Fry till golden brown from both sides..

  11. Yummy kabab is ready..

Open the cooker after the pressure reduces.

Strain, cool and grind it to a fine paste, adding little water if required.

Mix in it all the ingredients from list B thoroughly.

First i decided to make a chana chaat for me, but then i thought i would share a kabab recipe made with chana.

It is called as shammi kabab and it is so easy to make but taste very good and healthy for you as well.
