Dynamite shrimp is a yummy recipe made with spice coated flour fried shrimps, covered in a spicy mayo sauce is next to perfect recipe to serve as an appetizer or the main course.

When you go to a Japanese restaurant, these yummy shrimps are usually as a side dish or an appetizer.

You can have Dynamite Shrimp using 20 ingredients and 7 steps. Here is how you achieve that.

Ingredients of Dynamite Shrimp

  1. Prepare 300 gm of - Medium size Prawns.

  2. Prepare 3/4 cup of or more to need - vegetable oil.

  3. You need of For making Mayo Sriracha sauce.

  4. Prepare 1/2 cup of - Mayonnaise.

  5. Prepare 1 of tsp- Honey.

  6. Prepare 2 of tbsp- Sriracha sauce or any red chili sauce.

  7. You need 2 tbsp of - Tomato Sauce.

  8. You need 1/2 tsp of - White vinegar.

  9. You need of For making batter.

  10. You need 4 tbsp of - Cornflour.

  11. You need 1/8 tsp of - Chili flakes.

  12. You need 1/4 tsp of - Black pepper powder.

  13. Prepare of Salt as per taste.

  14. You need 1 of - Egg.

  15. It’s 1/2 tsp of - Garlic powder.

  16. It’s as needed of Lukewarm water.

  17. It’s of For Garnishing I Use.

  18. You need 3-4 of - Cabbage leaves.

  19. Prepare of Chopped Spring onions.

  20. It’s of Sesame Seeds.

It's remarkably easy to make right at home.

It is a Japanese appetizer comprising of battered shrimp coated in a mixture of mayonnaise and sriracha sauce.

This dish is also a very popular item on PF Chang's menu, which is an Asian restaurant in America and has its branches all around the world.

But none of them even came close to the original dynamite shrimps!

Dynamite Shrimp instructions

  1. Clean & wash the prawns/shrimp properly & pat dry with paper towel & keep them aside..

  2. Now for making Mayo sriracha sauce take a bowl, add Mayonnaise,Sriracha sauce,Honey,Tomato sauce,Vinegar & by using a whisker mix well until blended well..

  3. For making batter take another bowl add Cornflour,Salt to taste,Chili flakes,Black pepper powder,Egg, Garlic powder,little lukewarm water and whisk well to make smooth batter..

  4. Now add prawns in to the batter,mix well until coated properly.Set them aside for 10 minutes..

  5. Heat the oil in a fry pan.When oil becomes hot enough fry the prawns in 1-2 batches for 2-3 minutes or until golden brown in color.Transfer them on a paper towel lined plate..

  6. Now pour the fried prawns in to the mayo Sriracha sauce,toss them well with the sauce until coated well..

  7. Served them hot Garnished with chopped Spring onions,Sesame seeds and cabbage leaves..

Some got the sauce right, some got the texture right, some got the flavor right.

Which is when I decided, I have to make it myself.

This is a copycat recipe for P F Chang's Dynamite Shrimp (Crispy shrimp tossed in a zesty sauce).

Dynamite Shrimp is one of my favorite Japanese appetizer dishes.

It's basically shrimp battered and deep fried to golden perfection and tossed with a honey-mayonnaise light dressing.
