Ingredients of Meatballs

  1. You need 1 lb of lean ground beef.

  2. It’s 1 lb of mild Italian sausage.

  3. Prepare 4 cloves of garlic.

  4. You need 3 of shallots.

  5. Prepare 1 bundle of green onions.

  6. You need 6 of large mushrooms.

  7. Prepare 1/2 of zuchinni.

  8. It’s 1 of egg.

  9. It’s 1 cup of panko bread crumbs.

We like more of a crunchy, dry meatball so these are baked in the oven without sauce but they can be simmered on the stovetop in marinara sauce, as well.

These meatballs-were relatively easy to make, and they tasted great.

I love that they are cooked via baking rather pan-frying, as this is a much simpler and less messy preparation.

Meatballs step by step

  1. Place meat mixture in large bowl and add egg and bread crumbs.

  2. Finely chop garlic, shallots, green onion, mushrooms and zucchini and add to meat mixture.

  3. Add 1/4 teaspoon of salt and sugar and fresh pepper and mix well with hands.

  4. Form meat mixture into 1 1/2" balls and place on pan.

  5. Preheat oven to 400 deg Fahrenheit.

  6. Spray a bit of oil on meatballs and place in oven.

  7. Cook for 25-30min.

  8. Simmer meatballs in pan with tomato sauce and serve with spaghetti.

Coat a large saute pan with olive oil, add the onions and bring to a medium-high heat.

In a large mixing bowl, stir together the panko and milk until combined.

Add the ground beef, ground pork, garlic, eggs, Parmesan, fresh herbs, onion and Worcestershire sauce to the mixing bowl.
