Aloo methi. Aloo methi recipe - easy recipe of fenugreek leaves and potatoes sauteed in garlic & spices. Fenugreek leaves are called methi in hindi and potatoes known as aloo. They both pair up wonderfully well to make a stir fry, variety rice or Paratha.

Potatoes and fenugreek leaves are a lovely combination together.

At home, I make aloo methi two ways.

One is this Punjabi recipe and the other is my mom's version of Methi aloo with garlic and onions.

You can cook Aloo methi using 8 ingredients and 6 steps. Here is how you achieve it.

Ingredients of Aloo methi

  1. Prepare 500 gms of methi leaves.

  2. It’s 250 gms of potatoes.

  3. You need 2 of big tomatoes.

  4. It’s 2 of Green chillies.

  5. You need 2 tsp of oil.

  6. You need 1 tsp of salt.

  7. Prepare 1/2 tsp of turmeric powder.

  8. It’s 1/2 of red chillies.

This aloo methi recipe has a lot of flavor and bitterness of methi (fenugreek) leaves combined with the earthy flavor and taste of potatoes.

It is less spiced and a dry vegetable sabzi.

Aloo methi instructions

  1. Take a pan add oil in it..

  2. Add cube potatoes in oil and stir fry it.

  3. When potatoes become golden brown add methi leaves along with tomato and green chillies.

  4. Add salt and turmeric powder.

  5. Cover pan and let it cook.

  6. Keep stiring it and let the water gets dried..
