Recipe: at dinner Poricha Meen Curry Delicious, fresh and tasty.

Poricha Meen Curry. Add the fish and don't cover with a lid. Let it cook ,as the curry reduces down. Don't move the fish around too much,or it will start to break.

Serve with bream with the sauce on the side with steamed basmati rice.

For that in a jar add green chilli, ginger,garlic,small onion ,curry leaves ,turmeric ,kashmiri chilli powder, chilli powder ,fennel powder ,pepper ,salt ,vinegar, coconut oil and water and make a fine thick paste.

Then shallow fry the fish till cooked well.

Ingredients of Poricha Meen Curry

  1. You need 4 of Fish (any sea fish)   pieces.

  2. It’s 5 tbsps of Coconut oil.

  3. You need 1/2 cup of Coconut milk.

  4. It’s 5 - 6 Nos of Curry leaves ..

  5. You need 2 Nos of Green chillies ..

  6. It’s 6 - 7 nos of Shallots ..

  7. It’s 1 tsp of Coriander powder.

  8. Prepare 1 No of tomato Chopped ..

  9. It’s 2 Nos of kokum Soaked fruits ..

  10. Prepare 1 tbsp of Kashmiri chili powder.

  11. It’s 1 tsp of Pepper powder.

  12. It’s 1 tsp of Chopped ginger.

  13. It’s 1 tsp of Chopped garlic.

  14. You need 1/2 cup of Coconut milk.

  15. You need 1 tsp of Turmeric powder.

  16. Prepare 2 pods of Curry leaves.

  17. It’s as required of Salt.

Simple & Spicy Fish Fry / Meen Porippu / Poricha Meen / Meen Varuthathu / Meen Porichathu.

This is a simple fish fry recipe which we make in our house often.

It hardly take any time to cook.

It is fish stuffed steamed rice rotti.

Poricha Meen Curry step by step

  1. Clean the fish pieces and marinate it with pepper powder, salt, turmeric powder, and chilly powder. Leave it for 30 minutes..

  2. Shallow fry the fish in oil..

  3. Take the fish pieces out and add chopped shallots, chopped ginger, chopped garlic, green chillies(slit in the middle), coriander powder, and tomato to the oil..

  4. Transfer the fish pieces into the pan. Add the coconut milk and kokum fruits and cook for 5-8 minutes in low flame..

  5. Garnish with curry leaves..

In my locality we call it as Poricha meen pathiri (fried fish rotti).

My sister Rafeedha prepared this and it came out super tasty.

The taste was exactly as my mother's preparation.
