Salted Jeera cookies. Cumin cookies or jeera/zeera (hindi name for cumin) biscuits as we call them in India are ideal for tea time. Little sweet and little salty, I love to dip them in my chai, so yum! I have tried making these cookies before but somehow they never tasted the way I wanted them to and so I tried and tried again and finally I found a recipe which was just perfect.

Jeera Biscuits are delicious savory biscuits that are lightly salted and seasoned with roasted cumin seeds.

It is an all-time favorite snack at home and perfect along with coffee or tea.  Jeera biscuits are easy to make and can be stored in an airtight container for up to a week.

They make a nice travel snack and picnic snack.

Ingredients of Salted Jeera cookies

  1. It’s 1/2 cup of salted butter.

  2. Prepare 1/2 cup of icing sugar or sugar powdered.

  3. You need 1/2 tsp of baking powder.

  4. You need 1/4 tsp of baking soda.

  5. It’s Pinch of salt.

  6. Prepare 1/2 tsp of Vanilla essence (optional).

  7. You need 3/4 cup of maida/All-purpose flour.

  8. You need 2 tsp of milk.

  9. It’s 1/4 cup of Roasted jeera (cumin).

Salted Jeera cookies instructions

  1. In a bowl take halt cup of butter add icing sugar to it beat it nicely until you get pluffy consistency..

  2. Add baking powder, baking soda, pinch of salt, vanilla essence mix it well.

  3. Add roasted jeera mix it..

  4. Add maida in batch wise and mix it well. Dont knead it just mix it properly. If dough is not mixing then add 2 spoons of milk..

  5. Make coin size cookies on top again sprinkle some more rosted jeera..

  6. Place it in baking tray (baking tray with Parchment paper or silver foil).

  7. Bake it 180°c pre heated oven for 20-25 minutes or until cookies bakes completely..

So these cookies give two fold benefits!
