Easiest Way to Refreshing at dinner Bombay Halwa Delicious, fresh and tasty.

Soft and melt in the mouth is karachi halwa which is also known as Bombay halwa.

Karachi halwa is made with basically four ingredients - corn flour, ghee, water and sugar.

I had got some recipe requests to share karachi halwa, hence sharing the recipe.

You can have Bombay Halwa using 10 ingredients and 11 steps. Here is how you achieve that.

Ingredients of Bombay Halwa

  1. You need 1/2 cup of corn flour.

  2. Prepare 1 1/2 cup of water.

  3. Prepare 1 1/4 cup of sugar.

  4. Prepare 1 cup of water.

  5. It’s 1 teaspoon of lemon juice.

  6. You need 4-5 tablespoon of pure ghee.

  7. Prepare 10 of Chopped cashwes.

  8. Prepare 10 of Chopped almonds.

  9. Prepare 1/4 teaspoon of cardamom powder.

  10. You need of Few drops of purple colour or any other colour of your choice.

Bombay Halwa is a traditional Indian sweet dish that can be easily prepared during festivals like Diwali, Navratri, etc.

The Bombay Karachi halwa is a sub-continent favourite and is prepared with simple ingredients like corn flour, ghee and sugar with a tinge of cardamom powder added to it, garnished with some chopped nuts to add on to the crunch.

There are many variations in Bombay Ice Halwa which differ with colors and flavors in preparations.

Halwa is my favorite in any variations but especially Bombay Halwa is my favorite sweet.

Bombay Halwa instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl take corn flour and water.

  2. Mix well without forming any lumps. furthermore, add half cup of more water and continue to mix. Then keep it aside.

  3. Now in a large non-stick pan take sugar add water and allow the syrup to boil.

  4. Pour corn flour mixture into the boiling sugar syrup and stir continusly on a low flame.

  5. Once the corn flour mixture starts to boil, and starts to thicken, immediately add a teaspoon of lemon juice. also keep stirring till the mixture thickens completely.

  6. Now add a tablespoon full of ghee, and mix continuously till all the ghee is absorbed.

  7. Further, add another tablespoon of more ghee and continue to mix till it turns glossy.

  8. Once the mixture will start turning transparent and silky, releasing ghee from sides add food colour, cardamom powder and chopped cashews.

  9. Continue to mix till mixture will start to form a lump. Later, transfer the mixture to a tray and level.

  10. Also sprinkle some chopped almonds and rest for an hour.

  11. Finally, cut to a desired shape and serve..
