Panch misali dal. Panchmel dal is also known as Panchratna dal Or dal panchmel. the word Panch means five. A chorchori is the Bengali word for a mishmash or medley of vegetables, both frugal and healthy at the same time. This recipe is also known as panch mishali tarkari, or five vegetable stir-fry.

  1. Prepare 100 gm of mixed dal(moong, masoor, toor, chana, split black urad).

Panch misali dal step by step

  1. Wash and soak the mixed dal for at least 1 hr. Then pressure cook the dal with salt and turmeric till 4 whistles..

  2. In a kadhai or pan heat ghee/oil and add the curry leaves and green chillies. Then add the chopped garlic. Stir. Then add chopped onion and fry till light golden..

  3. Then add chopped tomatoes. Cook till soft. Then add tadka masala and a little water. Cook till oil leaves sides. Then add the cooked mixed dal(5 types… so the name goes panch misali).stir and bring to boil. Add more water if u want a thin consistency..

  4. Garnish with chopped green coriander and serve hot with chapatis or parathas.

Lastly, add Eggplant cubes and Green Chili.

Now add ½ cup water and cover the pan with a lid and cook on low flame till all the veggies soften.
