Ajwain Puri Recipe is a very simple Indian bread which is made from wheat flour and flavoured with a pinch of turmeric and some toasted Ajwain seeds.

The bread is deep fried in peanut oil which gives it a crispy and puffed texture.

Ajwain seeds have a very distinctive aroma which gives the bread a unique taste.  The Puris are traditionally consumed more by the Indian subcontinent which is.

You can cook Ajwain poori using 4 ingredients and 3 steps. Here is how you cook that.

Ingredients of Ajwain poori

  1. It’s 2 cup of wheat flour.

  2. Prepare 2 tsp of carom.

  3. It’s 3 tbsp of oil for moyan.

  4. Prepare as needed of Oil for fry.

Add water to this and knead the dough.

Flatten the dough into small discs.

Ajwain Poori is puffed Indian flat bread made with whole wheat flour, flavored with carom seeds and other spices.

I usually don't make Pooris at home, that quite often.

In fact, I make them so occasionally just twice or thrice in a year that it is almost equivalent to festive food at our house-hold.

Ajwain is called 'Vamu' in Telugu, 'Omam' in Tamil, 'Ayamodakam' in Malayalam, 'Om Kalugalu' in Kannada, 'Ajmo' in Gujarati and 'Ova' in Marathi.

Carrom seeds are useful in getting rid of Acidity, Constipation and Kidney disorder, however main objective of adding these seeds here in poori is for digestive reasons.

Kasta or khasta means crispy, so it is a crispy poori with ajwain / omam as a main ingredient.

It has very simple ingredients, easy to make and healthy too.
