I decided to prepare it for this post, to showcase another delicacy from Rivers State, and surprise, surprise, it went down very well with native soup.

Onunu and light fish stew is a delicacy of the Kalabari people in Rivers State.

This special food is prepared with yam and ripe plantain.

No wonder some people call it, "Rivers pounded yam and plantain." To enjoy Onunu, it should be eaten immediately it is prepared.

To me, based on my own findings and practical Onunu can as well be served with any local soup of your choice, it must not be basically with fish pepper soup.
