It will give it a nice and creamy texture, that skim milk or low-fat milk won't give.

Khoya - I like to add Khoya in my Halwa, but it is completely optional.

You can make the Halwa only with Milk too.

  1. Grate the beetroot in a container..

  2. Boil milk and reduce it to half the amount..

  3. Add the beetroot in the milk and stir..

  4. Cook it till all the beetroot absorbs the milk and milk gets reduced and thickened..

  5. Add condensed milk and cardamom..

  6. Add the khoya if you want. It will increase the richness of the dessert. (Optional).

  7. Add a pinch of salt and sugar to enhance the flavor and stir..

  8. Add the cashews and raisins at the end and stir for 5 mins until it combines altogether..

  9. Cook till milk gets totally absorbed..

  10. Serve hot or cold..
