Recipe: at dinner Prawn olio Delicious, fresh and tasty.

Prawn olio. Remove the prawns' heads and shells (keep them to make stock). De-vein the prawns and place them in a small bowl. Rinse the prawns and pat-dry thoroughly with paper towels.

The extra step of boiling the prawn heads and shells will add some umami-ness to the Aglio Olio, but you can skip this step and use pasta water if out of time.

Shrimp (or prawns) cook very quickly when cooked in a hot pan.

You can have Prawn olio using 14 ingredients and 10 steps. Here is how you cook that.

Ingredients of Prawn olio

  1. Prepare 1/2 pack of spaghetti.

  2. You need 1 of big red onion, diced.

  3. You need 3-4 cloves of garlic, diced.

  4. You need 1 cube of chicken stock.

  5. It’s 300 g of fresh prawns peeled and cleaned.

  6. You need 1/4 cup of diced yellow bell pepper (opt).

  7. You need 1 cup of button mushroom, sliced.

  8. Prepare to taste of Crushed black pepper.

  9. Prepare to taste of Salt.

  10. You need 1 pinch of chili flakes.

  11. You need 1/2 cup of olive oil (you can also use vegetable oil, works better for this recipe).

  12. You need 1-2 tablespoon of butter (opt).

  13. You need 1 pinch of dried basil and parsley.

  14. You need 1/3 cup of chopped fresh parsley.

Once the prawns have turned evenly pink and opaque, they are cooked.

Take care not to overcrowd the pan as this will cause the shrimp to steam instead of pan-fry.

Prawn olio step by step

  1. Cook spaghetti in boiled water. (Follow as told in packet instructions). Add some salt and olive oil, toss and put aside..

  2. Season prawns with salt and black pepper..

  3. Heat up oil over medium heat in frying pan. Add in shrimp. Cook and put it aside..

  4. Using the same oil, put in diced red onion. After 1 min, add in diced garlic. (If oil is not enough, add butter).

  5. When onion starts to sweat, add in diced bell pepper..

  6. Season the oil with salt and black pepper. Add in chicken stock cube..

  7. When the bell peppers softens, add in the mushrooms, dried parsley and bayleaf..

  8. When mushrooms are cooked, add in the spagethi noodles, chili flakes and chopped parsley..

  9. Add in the prawns and stir untill combine..

  10. Serve..

This pasta may be difficult to pronounce for some but easy to make for all.

This has got to be one of my favourite recipes and is the best go to when I need to whip up something quick.

Remove the shells and veins from the prawns.

Strain the stock and set aside.

Heat half the butter in a sauce pan.
