Chocolate Pound Cake step by step

  1. Preheat oven to 180, line the loaf pan.

  2. Sieve flour, baking powder and salt and keep it aside.

  3. Melt butter over low heat in a saucepan, add milk, sugar and Cocoa powder. Bring to boil, switch off.

  4. In a bowl, add semi sweet chocolate, add the above cocoa syrup to it reserving 1/2 cup cocoa syrup aside. Stir the chocolate and keep it aside. This is chocolate glaze.

  5. Whip egg whites until foamy and peaks form. Keep it aside.

  6. In a bowl, mix egg yolks and add to reserved cocoa syrup. Mix well. Incorporate dry ingredients slowly and blend well.

  7. Add whipped egg whites to batter and blend. Pour the batter to prepared loaf pan.

  8. Bake for 25-35 minutes until done. Allow to cool for 15 minutes, demould.Pour the chocolate glaze over the top of the cake. Garnish with nuts.cake should be completely cool before serving. Cut and serve.
