Then add curry leaves, chopped onions, sliced garlic and green chillies.

Once onions turn translucent, add the cooked green gram sprouts along with salt.

  1. Soak green gram in water for 6-8 hours, drain water, tie in a cloth and keep 8 hours for sprouting.

  2. Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds, let it splutter.

  3. Add sliced onion, fry till golden brown, add choped chillies and one stalk curry leaves, saut for a minute or so.

  4. Add sprouted green gram, add turmeric powder, add little water, cook till done (6-8mnts).

  5. When done add grated coconut,salt, mix well and bring down, garnish with a stalk of curry leaves, serve with rice..

Then drain the water and place them in a cloth bag/cotton towel.

Hang/store the bag/towel i n a cool, well-ventilated place, out of direct sunlight.
