my mom's corn pie. This is my mom's corn pie. We grew up eating this and loving it in the heart of Amish country. It is a very hearty dish, and easy to make.
Some people add cooked chicken to the pie as well.

It’s 1 can of cream corn.

You need 1 cup of flour.

You need 2 cup of cheese.

Prepare 1 dash of salt.

You need 1 tbsp of sugar.

Prepare 1 of bread crumbs.

Prepare pie shell whether it is homemade or bought.
Must not be baked, set aside.

set oven on lowest heat.

mix cream corn and whole corn in bowl… add egg, salt, n sugar… mix.

slowly add flour then 1 1/2 cups cheese… save rest of cheese for top….

pour mixture into baking dish… sprinkle rest of cheese on top n some bread crumbs….

bake on low until a toothpick comes out clean….
I don't remember seeing my Grandmother actually make pies, but I do have the best memories of eating dinner at her house; fried chicken, peas, rolls, and apple pie with slices of cheddar cheese for dessert.
It tasted verrrrry similar to my Mom's corn pudding recipe… so it was amazing to have a little taste of home!
Obviously I love this corn pudding as is, but if you would prefer to play around with different flavors, feel free to try adding some shredded cheese, green chiles, etc.
