You need 3 tsp of Sambar Powder.

You need 3 sprigs of Curry leaves.

Soak tamarind in water to extract the pulp.

Now add the cooked vegetables in the mashed dal and let the vegetables cook in the dal..

Mix well. Add tamarind pulp and water as required. Sprinkle curry leaves.

Once sambar starts boiling, add sambar powder. Mix well..

Finally, add red chilli powder, mix well and take off the stove. Put a sprig of Curry leaves..

Serve with white rice..

Tamarind & Jaggery: these ingredients add the little tartness & sweetness to the sambar respectively.
