POTATO  CURRY  WITH   PARWAL PAKORA. Potato and parwal curry is an authentic Indian curry recipe cooked in Indian households. Usually parwal or pointed gourd is not liked by most but it tastes really good if cooked well with potato and other spices. Mainly this curry is prepared from potatoes, pointed gourd,.

Today I am sharing recipe of a vegetable from gourd family.

This is called Pointed Gourd, commonly referred as Parwal (परवल).

You can cook POTATO  CURRY  WITH   PARWAL PAKORA using 25 ingredients and 5 steps. Here is how you cook that.

Ingredients of POTATO  CURRY  WITH   PARWAL PAKORA

  1. It’s 6 of Parwal medium sized (wash it properly. peel the skin and slit it).

  2. Prepare 2 of Potatoes (wash properly and cut into big size).

  3. It’s For of dry ingredients.

  4. It’s 1/2 tsp of turmeric powder.

  5. You need 1 tsp of black pepper.

  6. Prepare 1/2 tsp of garam masala.

  7. It’s For of tempering-.

  8. Prepare 1 tsp of cumin seeds.

  9. It’s 1 of bay leaf.

  10. You need For of gravy.

  11. Prepare 1 of onion cut in to big size.

  12. You need 1 of tomato cut into big size. Grind it coarsely.

  13. It’s For of pakoras-.

  14. You need 4 tbsp of besan.

  15. Prepare 1/2 tsp of turmeric powder.

  16. It’s 1/2 tsp of red chilli powder.

  17. It’s 1 tsp of black pepper powder.

  18. It’s 1 tsp of roasted cumin powder.

  19. It’s 1 tsp of coriander powder.

  20. Prepare 1 tbsp of Ginger, garlic and green chilli paste.

  21. It’s 1/2 tsp of onion seeds.

  22. You need 1 tsp of ghee (optional).

  23. You need As required of Spring onion.

  24. You need to taste of Salt.

  25. You need As required of Oil for cooking.

You can make a few things itself with this simple veg, I will try to cover those in my future posts, today I am sharing curry of pointed gourd made with potato.

Padwal Pakora also called as Parwal Pakora is a famous recipe from the North especially in the states of Orissa and West Bengal.

It is an authentic dish from the Maharashtrian Cuisine known for its rich taste and alluring shape.

They are crispy golden rings that comes with the benefit of a nutritious gourd inside.

POTATO  CURRY  WITH   PARWAL PAKORA step by step

  1. Marinate the Parwal with turmeric powder and salt. Keep aside for 1 hour..

  2. Take a bowl. Add besan, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, black pepper powder, roasted cumin powder, ginger, garlic and green chilli paste, onion seeds, coriander powder and salt. Mix it well Add limited water. Again mix it well. Make a thick batter. Heat oil in kadai. When the oil is hot..

  3. Dip the parwal in the besan mixture. Dip fry the pakoras till it become light brown in colour. Once it is done. Transfer to a tissue paper. Drain the excess oil. And keep aside..

  4. In the same kadai. Add little oil. Add cumin seeds and 1 bay leaf. Let it crackle. Fry the potatoes till it become light brown in colour. Then add onion and tomato paste, ginger, green chilli and garlic paste also.. Saute it for few minutes. Then add all the dry ingredients. Mix it well. Till the raw smell of masala goes off. Once it is done. Add water as needed. Boil it for 5 minutes. After that add parwal pakoras. Cook for about 3 minutes. The add 1 tsp ghee. Once it is done.

  5. Transfer to a beautiful white serving plate. Garnish with spring onion. Now it is ready to serve with hot steam rice.
