Easiest Way to Royal At Home Instant Vadai Delicious, fresh and tasty.
Instant Vadai. Instant aval vadai recipe needs no soaking and grinding can be made instantly in just few mins time. This is a very easy and quick snack to make,as Navaratri is nearing thought to post easy snack recipes and this is a long time pending recipe so starting with this. I have made this couple of times when I forgot to soak urad dal for medu vada and this came out so tasty and crispy.
One such is the dosa/idli batter.
Aval Vadai is an easy and crispy vadai which can be made instantly without the urud dal.
It is so crispy and tasty, that, you will fall in love with its taste.
You can have Instant Vadai using 15 ingredients and 7 steps. Here is how you achieve that.
Ingredients of Instant Vadai

Prepare of batter (Dosa/Idli).

You need of chopped small onions (can also be sautéd for flavour).

It’s of green chillies chopped.

Prepare of heated ghee.
-
Prepare of diced curry leaves.

It’s of pepper powder.

Prepare of ginger - grated.
-
Prepare of asafoetida.

Prepare of rava.
-
Prepare of salt.

Prepare of Oil/ghee to fry (not butter).

You need of Extra.

Prepare of cold water.

You need of You can also use 1/2 finely chopped big onion if small onions are unavailable. Avoid garlic, though.
Then the dal is ground to a smooth paste adding little to no water.
This requires patience and a good blender to make the perfect batter.
These quick vada use urad dal flour instead of the whole lentils.
This saves time with the soaking and grinding.
Instant Vadai step by step

Mix the batter with all the ingredients (except oil to fry). Add in some water if needed to make a thick flowy batter..

Let it rest about 5 minutes to incorporate the seasonings with the batter..

Now, shape the batter in the form of doughnuts. If very sticky, dunk your hands in the cold water and shape..

Heat the oil/ghee to medium-high and drop in one mould. If the batter starts to sizzle and form bubbles immediately around it; then the oil is hot enough..

Now add in all the moulds one by one in the batter and deep fry them. Once they turn darker golden brown both sides; drain them out on a paper towel and serve them hot! You can have it with a side of chutney..

You can use Sambar or Rasam to give Sambar vadai or Rasa vadai..

To make Thayir vadai, add the drained vadai in a bowl of hot water. Let it soak 5 mins. Then, drain off the water by squeezing the vadai gently so that it doesnt break and transfer it to another bowl. Add in thick curd/yoghurt in the bowl with the vadai and season it with small gratings of a carrot along with back mustard seeds sautéd in oil and chopped cilantro..
