The main ingredient of this recipe is moong dal or yellow lentil paste, which is mixed along with other spices and deep fried.

Moong Dal Paniyaram/Green Moong Dal Vada/Fritters step by step

  1. Soak green moong dal for 5 to 6 hours..

  2. Drain all the water completely. Add the moong dal to a blender and blend it into a very coarse batter, using minimum amount of water..

  3. Add this blended paste into a mixing bowl. To it, add the remaining ingredients: asafoedita, cumin powder, onions, green chillies, ginger paste, coriander leaves, curry leaves, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, semolina, cornflour, baking flour and salt. Mix well..

  4. Make small balls out of the mix. Deep fry these balls in hot oil on medium flame. These are made in Paniyaram Pan. So called Moong Dal Paniyaram..

  5. Serve hot with any chutney..

Drain the water completely from the moong dal.

Add salt, ginger garlic paste, green chillies and blend the green gram into a coarse paste without adding any water.

In a bowl add raw rice and moong dal.
