Recipe: at dinner Stir Fried Couscous Delicious, fresh and tasty.

Stir Fried Couscous. Stir-fry couscous is the recipe I'm sharing today if you are tired of eating rice every time then you need to try couscous. According to the Wikipedia couscous, the origin of couscous is not certain but they referred to couscous as a North African national dish, and there is wheat couscous too. Stir in couscous; cover pan and remove from heat.

Strips of ham are stir fried with broccoli, cauliflower and carrots in a sweet and gingery sauce, and served over freshly steamed couscous.

Water chestnuts and sliced almonds add a delightful crunch.

If using regular couscous, cook as per instructions and reserve.

Ingredients of Stir Fried Couscous

  1. It’s of Couscous.

  2. Prepare of Julienned carrots.

  3. It’s of Julienned green pepper.

  4. It’s of Julienned beef.

  5. Prepare of Julienned onions.

  6. It’s of Green beans (cut).

  7. It’s of Minced (or finely pounded) scotch bonnet + onion.

  8. It’s of Seasoning.

  9. It’s of Spices.

  10. Prepare of Vegetable oil.

  11. It’s of Water.

Heat olive oil in a wok over high heat.

Add onion and garlic and season with salt and pepper.

Fry until onions start to colour.

Stir in couscous; cover pan and remove from heat.

Stir Fried Couscous instructions

  1. Boil water in a pot. Add Couscous and allow to cook till 80% done..

  2. Meanwhile, put wok or deep frying pan on heat source. Add oil, beef, small quantity of spices and seasoning and stir fry..

  3. Add in minced scotch bonnet and onion combo, all other veggies and the rest of the spices and seasoning..

  4. Reduce heat and transfer Couscous to wok containing veggies. Stir very well to ensure even distribution of all ingredients..

  5. Turn off heat source and serve..

In large nonstick skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat until hot.

Remove from skillet with slotted spoon; keep warm.

Gradually pour the boiling water (with the melted chicken cube) to the couscous little by little, and stirring continously until it is absorbed.

You may choose not to add all the water, or depending on the instruction on the packet of the couscous.

Once couscous is set, add the stir-fried vegetables to it and stir once again over a low flame.
