Matcha powder is made from very finely ground Japanese green tea leaves.

Ingredients of Japanese Green Tea (Matcha) Madeleine

  1. It’s 100 g of butter.

  2. You need 70 g of flour.

  3. You need 30 g of green tea powder.

  4. You need 2 of eggs.

Many Japanese drink matcha on a daily basis.

Melt butter in a saucepan or microwave.

Grease and lightly flour a Madeleine mold. * Can be baked in mini-muffin pans if you don't own the special molds.

Japanese Green Tea (Matcha) Madeleine step by step

  1. Prep your favorite mold- I love scallops- wipe it with a cooking towel sipped into melted butter (5g would be enough) and sift flour(5g would be enough too) onto it..

  2. Prepare ingredients. Melt the butter in a microwave, sift the flour with green tea powder. Crack eggs and mix them..

  3. Heat your oven to 180C..

  4. Put sugar into eggs, and mix it with sifted powder. Add the melted butter at the end and mix it little by little so that it wont be lumpy..

  5. Put step 4 into the prepared mold with a spoon..

  6. Bake it at 180C for 15 minutes..

How to make: In a large bowl, beat the eggs with a whisk until smooth.

Soft and moist Madeleine flavored with matcha powder.

This delicate and tasty treat goes well with Japanese tea like sencha, hojicha, or genmaicha.
