Stuffed karela It tastes delicious and even kids can enjoy it. The bland, milky flavour of paneer can be a good way to counter the excessive bitterness of karela.

I generally do not rub salt in the bitter gourds.

Stuffed bitter gourd has become my latest favourite recipe.

I tried it for the first time few days back and now i am making it more often than you think.

It has become my go to recipe whenever i make bitter gourds.

I am using baby bitter gourds which are more tastier than normal big ones.

  1. Firstly prepare the stuffing by heating oil. add onions and ginger garlic paste. further add reserved karela skin and seeds. continue to saute for 2 minutes..

  2. Additionally add spices and saute on low flame. now add garam masala and sugar. mix well.Add grated Paneer and the stuffing is ready..

  3. Take the washed, peeled and slit karela.Heat oil in a Kadhai.Deep fry keralas until golden brown..

  4. Stuff the stuffing. further, with the help of toothpick, secure tight..

  5. Now In a nonstick pan add two tsps of oil.Place the stuffed karelas gently.simmer for 5-7 minutes stirring occasionally. further add leftover stuffing masala and mix gently..

  6. Finally Paneer bharwa karela is ready to serve with rice or chapathi..

  7. For Bharwa Onions…To make the filling, mix all the ingredients in a bowl and stuff the filling equally between the incisions of the onions. Now, keep the onions aside for 6 to 12 minutes. Heat oil in a pan and fry the cumin seeds until they start to crackle..

  8. Add the ginger garlic paste and green chilies in the pan and stir-fry for a minute. Now, mix coriander powder, red chilli powder and turmeric powder in a small bowl with 1 tblsp water. Add this paste to the pan along with tomatoes. Stir fry and mash the tomatoes using the back of the laddle or fork..

  9. Add the stuffed onions and salt and stir. Reduce the heat and cover the pan with a lid and stir from time to time. Cook until the onions are cooked ensuring they do not turn soft and squishy..

  10. Sprinkle the crushed fenugreek leaves, stir briefly and remove..

  11. Take a Microwave proof big tray,Place Paneer Bharwa karelas,masala stuffed onions and fried potatoes with fried green and red chillies.Sprinkle bharwa masala over the platter.Microwave for 2-3 minutes and serve hot..
