Samak Sabudana Idli. Sama ki Idli -Steamed cakes made with Barnyarn millet/Varai-Vrat ka khana. Sama ki Idli- samu/Varai/samak/barnyarn millet and sabudana, kuttu atta, singhora atta,rajgiri atta are mainly used as a fasting food. They are specially consumed during Navratri, shivratri,ekadashi and on other fasting days.

To make theses plate idlis, all you need to do is make a smooth batter made of one cup samak or sama rice, one-fourth cup sabudana.
You can have Samak Sabudana Idli using 9 ingredients and 7 steps. Here is how you achieve it.
Ingredients of Samak Sabudana Idli

Prepare 1 cup of barnyard millet (samak rice).

You need 1/4 cup of Tapioca pearl(sabudana).

Prepare 1/4 cup of curd.

It’s 1 tsp of Fruit salt or baking soda.

Prepare Little of salt.

It’s 1 tbsp of ghee.

It’s 1 tsp of mustard seeds.

You need 1 tsp of black sesame seeds.

You need Few of curry leaves.
Blend the two in a blender with sendha namak until you get a fine powder.
Now drain all the excess water and grind both with yogurt and make a coarse batter like idli batter. don't add water while grinding.
Transfer the batter in a bowl.
Drain and grind to mix a batter.
Samak Sabudana Idli step by step

Soak the samak rice and sabudana for 2 hours in different bowls..

Now drain it and grind it adding curd in it and make a smooth paste.Let it be rest for 15 minutes..

Now grease the idli moulds with ghee and get ready the steamer..

Now add little salt and fruit salt and mix in one direction only.Now fill all idli moulds and steam it for 15 minutes at medium flame..

After cooling down,demould them and can be eaten with coconut chutney..

And for tempering heat1 tbsp ghee,add black sesame seeds,mustard seed and curry leaves and pour it on the idlis..
