Recipe: at dinner Chicken Paprika Delicious, fresh and tasty.

Chicken Paprika. Well- I made it per the recipe and the chicken was really tender and sauce creamy BUT the paprika flavor was all it seemed to have. It is called Chicken Paprika but I was expecting some more depth and maybe a more complex flavor. Maybe if I used sweet along with smoky it would be more to my tastes.

The chicken broth, flour, sour cream, salt, pepper, red and green pepper and paprika were kept as is.

Pour chicken stock into the pan, and bring all to a boil.

Reduce heat to simmer; mix flour with sour cream until smooth, then whisk into chicken stock.

Chicken Paprika instructions

  1. First of all heat a large pan or metal casserole dish, (that has a lid) pour in the oil, add the chicken legs to brown, this can take about 10 mins..

  2. Meanwhile prepare the veggies, turning the drumsticks in between the chopping. Be careful they do spit. Heat the oven to 180 degrees..

  3. Once the drum sticks are browned, carefully remove and set aside! Now throw in the onion and garlic to the pan to soften..

  4. Add the peppers and spices. Splash the wine in to help deglaze the pan. Stir well!.

  5. Throw in the tomatoes, stir well. Dunk the chicken legs into the mixture, pour over the stock. Give it a jiggle!.

  6. Place on the lid, and pop it in the oven for an hour, after an hour give it a stir and place back in the oven with the lid off this time for another 30 - 40 minutes! Keep an eye on it for burning..

  7. Serve ! I served mine with some pre bought gnocchi! But it works well with rice or pasta too!!.

I use chicken parts, paprika, onions, sour cream, and not much else.

One of our favorite dishes ever!

For years I have been trying different Chicken Paprikash Recipes, trying to find the perfect one.
