Mukimo (Irio) is a Kenyan meal (predominantly from communities living around Mount Kenya) prepared by mashing potatoes and green vegetables.

You can have Mokimo using 3 ingredients and 3 steps. Here is how you achieve it.

Ingredients of Mokimo

  1. It’s of Potatoes.

  2. It’s 4 cups of Githeri.

  3. You need 2 cups of water.

It may also include maize and beans.

Mukimo is mostly served as an accompaniment for meat-based stew and nyama choma.

Though originally from the central part of Kenya, Mukimo is now consumed amongst various communities in Kenya.

Mokimo instructions

  1. Prepare my ingredients,peel off the potatoes skin then wash and put in a large sufuria let it boil with2 cups water.

  2. Before boiling add salt and your githeri and close with a leas let it boil for 30 min.

  3. When cooked remove and mash them together and serve while hot.
