Vegetarians world(Aloor dim). When I had posted the luchi recipe, some of you had asked me to post the Bengali style dum aloor recipe. Luchi and aloo dum have become a fortnightly breakfast at home. so I make the Bengali aloo dum in two ways. here is the onion-tomato version. There is another variation made with yogurt which I will also post.

Vegetarians world(Aloor dim) step by step

  1. Take some potatoes(as per person),wash them nicely and then boil them in the pressure cooker.After it gets boiled,peel the potato skin and then cut the potato into two equal halves…

  2. Now,take one half of the potato and gently remove a small amount of the potato to enter the filling.Do the same with rest of the potatoes..

  3. Now,for the filling,take a bowl and pour paneer in it,also add turmeric powder,red chilli powder,jeera powder,coriander powder,maggi masala-e-magic,salt to taste and a small amount of garam masala.Mix it well and then add the potato which you have removed from the upper part of the potato for filling,mix it well..

  4. Again,take one potato and fill the mixture,dip it in the besan and fry it in the oil.Do this with all the potatoes,after frying it keep it aside..

  5. Now,take a kadhai and add oil in it,for seasoning,u can use black jeera,red chillies,green chillies and asafoetida(hing) and then add water in it.Now add turmeric powder,red chilli powder,jeera powder,coriander powder,salt and a pinch of sugar in it.After adding these,pour the fried potatoes and after 5 mins add garam masala and maggi masala-e-magic in it.You can add 2 tablespoons of milk too(optional).let it be in the stove for 5 mins and then your aloor dim is ready,its really yummy..
