Recipe: Appetizing Borishali Hilsha Bhapa Delicious, fresh and tasty.

Borishali Hilsha Bhapa. If you are too orthodox while dealing with hilsa, then you can settle for their traditional fare complete with Borishali Shorshe Ilish Bhapa, Ganga Ilisher Paturi or Daab Ilish. Even among the traditional items, there is a rare recipe of Kamla Lebur Ilish. Must Haves: Borishali Ilish (Bangladeshi specialty of Hilsa Fish), Bhapa Ilish (Steamed Hilsa with Chilies and Mustard Oil), Jhuri Jhuri Loitte Mach Bhaja (Mashed Bombay Duck Fish Curry), Pur Bhora Bhetki (Filling Stuffed Paupiettes of Bhetki Fish), and Daber Shondesh(Coconut Shondesh Dessert).

A personal favourite on the menu is the Borishali ilish biryani, albeit greasy, but.

For us, the tastiest dishes from the thala was Tel Koi-er Hoi Choi (a special whole fish cooked in an oily gravy), Borishali Ilish (a mustard based Hilsa curry from Barisal district of Bangladesh) and Chirontoni Chitol Macher Muitha (a traditional preparation from boneless Chital fish).

The Ilish Bhapa was very good too, but the Chingri Malaikari was disappointing in taste.

You can cook Borishali Hilsha Bhapa using 10 ingredients and 11 steps. Here is how you achieve it.

One very positive aspect of the place is their service.
