Ingredients of Sheer chai pink tea

  1. It’s 1 tsp of Kashmiri tea/ green tea.

  2. You need Pinch of baking soda.

  3. Prepare 1/4 tsp of cardamom powder.

  4. It’s 1/4 tsp of almond silvers.

  5. It’s 1/4 tsp of pistachio silvers.

  6. It’s 1/4 tsp of sugar (optional).

  7. Prepare 1.5 cup of milk.

  8. You need 3 cup of water.

Sheer chai pink tea step by step

  1. In sauce pan, add tea & one cup of water & let it boil. Once it starts boiling, add baking soda & let it boil..

  2. When its quantity is reduced to half add cardamom powder, salt, sugar and one cup water and let it boil, stir occasionally..

  3. After a while, add one cup water & boil again till tea turns deep reddish brown, stir occasionally..

  4. When you notice colour of tea deep reddish brown, take 1 tbsp boiling tea in a bowl & add few drops of milk. If colour changes to pink,then its right time to add milk, else boil for more few minutes..

  5. Then add milk, the colour of tea will turns to pink. Boil for one minute..

  6. Then turn off the flame & strain tea in a cup. Add dollop of fresh cream,sprinkle almond & pistachio silvers, serve hot..

The word 'Noon' means salt in Kashmiri language.

Unlike other tea, this tea tastes salty due to addition of salt, particularly sea salt instead of sugar.

Like in any other dishes of this cuisine, nuts like chopped pistachio and almonds are used here too.
