I've made endless dishes combining these two ingredients, but when I saw this simple recipe inside my friend Gina's new cookbook, One and Done, I knew it needed to happen soon.

  1. It’s 1 of medium head red cabbage.

  2. Prepare 24 oz of hot Italian sausage.

  3. You need 1 of lg white onion.

  4. You need 2 (14.5 oz) of cans diced tomatoes.

  5. Prepare 1 T of better than bouillon.

  6. You need of Italian herb blend.

  7. It’s of Salt, olive oil.

  8. Prepare 1 of # Angel hair pasta.

  9. Prepare of Couple glugs Merlot.

Wrap a damp paper towel around the cabbage, and place it in a perforated plastic bag in the crisper drawer.

  1. Brown sausage in Dutch oven, remove. (Start tall pot of salted water for pasta).

  2. Chop and add onions along with herbs.

  3. Add wine to deglaze pan.

  4. Add tomatoes, bouillon, chopped cabbage.

  5. Cook until tender. Return sausage to pan. Olive oil and salt to taste. Serve over pasta.

In a large skillet, brown the sausage; drain.
