Recipe: Appetizing Basa Fish Fry

Recipe: Appetizing Basa Fish Fry Delicious, fresh and tasty.
Basa Fish Fry. You will be amazed what a crispy crust this produces without any oil. Basa has a mild flavor and a delicate texture, with no "fishy" taste or smell. Use this method with any mild flavored white fish fillets if you cannot find basa.
Garnish the fish with wedges of lemon and a sprinkle of salt.
Crispy basa fillets are great with potato salad or a garden salad.
Basa cooks very quickly, so do keep an eye continuously.
You can have Basa Fish Fry using 10 ingredients and 7 steps. Here is how you achieve it.

Fish fry coating is somewhat different as it is primarily based on breadcrumbs giving the fish fillet a crispy outer crust; whereas my batter fried basa is dipped into a smooth batter of milk, egg and flour lending the fish fillet a smooth and velvety texture outside.
Marinate fish with lemon, salt and garlic salt for an hour beat the egg and add oregano and little salt.

We have made this recipe several times using whatever fish fillet has been on sale (haddock, pollack, etc.) and it has been wonderful.
Crispy on the outside, moist on the inside.
My husband invariably makes a fish sandwich out of it with english muffins, tartar sauce, and cheese slices.
With a good fish, well seasoned and crispy skin, I don't need a sauce.but I've added a couple in the notes just in case! 🙂 There are lots of baked fish recipes out there, but this oven-fried version is hands-down our favorite.
It would also taste great served on a bun with tartar sauce and a slice of cheese (so go ahead and ditch the drive-thru).
