  1. It’s 1/2 cup of Red Gram(Thuvaram Parupu) soak for 30mins.

  2. It’s 1 Glass of Rice.

  3. Prepare 4 of green chillies.

  4. It’s 2 of Red Chillies.

  5. You need 1 of onion.

  6. You need 1 of tomato.

  7. Prepare 10 of garlic cloves.

  8. Prepare 1/2 tsp of Jeera.

  9. It’s 1 of Cinnamom.

  10. Prepare 4-5 of Pepper.

  11. It’s of as required Ghee.

  12. It’s 1 spoon of Salt.

  13. It’s 1/2 tsp of Chilli powder.

  14. Prepare 1/2 tsp of Coriander Powder.

The great thing about this dish is that it can be done in a jiffy and it tastes very delicious.

Those are toor dal and rice.

We add ground paste and coconut to the Toor dal rice.

I prefer thuvaramparuppu sadham for lunch and arisiparuppu sadham for dinner.

  1. In cooker add ghee, mustard,jira,pepper,green chilli,red chilli and fry well..

  2. Add the garlic and onion..

  3. Add 1 spoon salt,Half spoon turmeric powder..

  4. Mix well until it turns brownish and add tomato.Mix well and keep it in low flame for few minutes..

  5. Take the soaked red Gram and 1 cup of rice,add it to the cooker.

  6. Since we have already soaked red gram in water,no need to add water separately for Red gram.Add 2 cups of water for one glass of Rice in cooker..

  7. Boil for sometime and then close the cooker and keep it for 2 whitsle..

  8. Arisi Parupu sadham is now Ready..

The former is more spicy version of Arisi paruppu sadham.

If you are in a hurry, you should go for arisi paruppu sadham.
