I make this dal fry recipe in pressure cooker but you can make in the pot as well.
In the pressure cooker it takes only - minutes to cook however it.
Next add cooked dal and mix them well.

Wash and soak in 2 cup of water for half hour. Now add tomato, onions, green chilies,ginger, garlic,turmeric powder and salt to dal, pressure cook for 3-4 whistle, switch off flame and allow to release pressure from cooker..

Heat coal directly on flame, put burning coal in bowl place it on centre of dal pour ghee and shahi jeera on coal cover lid for 3-4 minutes, remove bowl from dal and ready to serve with jeera rice..
Take out the dal in a serving bowl, add lemon to it and garnish it with the coriander leaves.
Serve hot with chapattis and jeera rice.
Dal fry is eaten with plain regular rice or with roti.
On occasions we also eat it with plain basmati rice, Jeera rice, ghee rice or with Indian flatbreads like plain paratha, methi paratha, palak paratha.
