Recipe: Appetizing Egg Drop Curry Delicious, fresh and tasty.

Egg Drop Curry. Egg Drop Curry is a different yet delicious Goan-Konkani egg preparation. This thick gravy preparation was my mother's makeshift arrangement when she would try to cheer me up from my annoyance and displeasure when she would fail to procure seafood from the local fish market. She would try to fill in this void by making this second favorite dish of Mine-Egg Drop Curry.

This is the recipe for Egg Drop Curry that my mum used to make very often when we were kids.

The recipe is an East Indian style Egg Curry that has bottle masala and coconut.

It is pretty quick and simple to get done.

Ingredients of Egg Drop Curry

  1. It’s 2-3 of eggs.

  2. It’s 3 tbsp of chopped onions.

  3. It’s 1 tbsp of ginger, garlic paste.

  4. You need 1tsp of green chilli paste.

  5. You need 2 tbsp of tomato puree.

  6. It’s 1/2tsp of turmeric powder.

  7. It’s 1/4tsp of red chilli powder.

  8. It’s 1/2tsp of cumin powder.

  9. It’s 1/2tsp of coriander powder.

  10. You need 1/4tsp of garam masala powder.

  11. Prepare 1/2tsp of kasuri methi.

  12. You need 2 tbsp of oil.

  13. Prepare 1/2tsp of salt(to taste).

  14. It’s 1/4tsp of sugar.

  15. Prepare 1 cup of water.

Eggs are dropped in boiling coconut gravy to make this, egg drop curry, a rich curry that goes excellently well with Neer Dosas, Rice or Semeyda adye.

Egg Drop Curry instructions

  1. Heat oil in a pan, add chopped onions cook for a minute till onions become golden, add ginger, garlic paste, green chilli paste cook for a minute, add spices,sugar and salt again cook to it for few seconds..

  2. Now add tomato puree and kasuri methi, cook till it is dried and oil separate from it, pour water bring it to boil..

  3. Now slowly crack open eggs in the curry, cover and cook on a law flame for 4 to 5 minutes, now Egg Drop Curry is ready..

It doesn't require boiling and peeling of eggs, making it hassle free and time saving..

Its easy to cook and goes well with Rice, Idli, Appam, etc.

This curry is made from eggs which are cracked and dropped in the spicy curry which is made up of grated coconut, onion, coriander seeds, dry red chilies, turmeric powder and tamarind.

Addition of tamarind adds tanginess to the curry.
