You can have Soya and Methi Cutlets / Soya and Fenugreek leaves patties using 15 ingredients and 6 steps. Here is how you achieve it.

Ingredients of Soya and Methi Cutlets / Soya and Fenugreek leaves patties

  1. You need 1 1/2 Cups of soya Chunks.

  2. It’s 3/4 Cup of Methi Fenugreek or leaves finely chopped.

  3. Prepare 3/4 Cup of potatoes boiled.

  4. Prepare 1 1/2 Cups of onions finely chopped.

  5. You need 2 of green chillies finely chopped.

  6. It’s 1 Teaspoon of chopped ginger finely.

  7. Prepare 1 Teaspoon of chopped garlic finely.

  8. It’s 1 Teaspoon of curry leaves finely chopped ( Optional).

  9. Prepare 2 tbsp of coriander leaves finely chopped Tablespoons.

  10. Prepare 2 Teaspoons of Masala Meat powder ( Optional).

  11. Prepare 2 of egg beaten.

  12. It’s To Taste of Salt as per taste.

  13. You need 2 Cups of Bread crumbs for frying.

  14. It’s 2 Cups of Oil for frying ..

  15. It’s 2 Cups of water.

This recipe is recreation of the one on the Nutrela box.

The bitterness of Methi in the cutlets is well balanced by the mild flavored soy.

Soya chunk cutlets are ready to be served.

Serve the cutlets hot with tomato ketchup or green chutney.

Soya and Methi Cutlets / Soya and Fenugreek leaves patties step by step

  1. Boil the water with about 1 tsp salt and soak the soya chunks for about 10-20 minutes.. After 20 minutes and cool enough,squeeze the water completely off the soya chunks with your hands and finely chop them using your food processor. Keep this aside..

  2. Process the onions, green chilies, ginger and garlic together so they are finely chopped.. In a pan, heat some oil and crack the mustard seeds. To this add the onion, ginger, garlic and chilly and mix and saute well..

  3. When the onions start to get translucent, add the potatoes and mix well and then add the meat masala, and some salt and mix well.. When the the raw smell is left, take off from flame and leave it to cool..

  4. Once cooled, add in the processed soya chunks, finely chopped methi(fenugreek leaves), curry leaves and coriander leaves and mix with your fingers till they are like a soft dough..

  5. Roll out small balls and them pat them to your desired size and shape.. Dip them in the beaten egg one by one and then roll them in bread crumbs.. Heat oil for frying and when hot, deep fry them..

  6. Serve hot along with rice, with sandwiches, rotis or with just sauce..

You can also add ginger-garlic paste to the mixture before making patties/cutlets.

Ensure to squeeze the excess water completely.

Otherwise the cutlets will not hold good shape.
