Recipe: Yummy Samak Rice Chikki Delicious, fresh and tasty.

Samak Rice Chikki. A healthy and tasty barnyard millet or samak khichdi which is cooked with minimal spices and is perfect for fasting. A very light, easy to digest and healthy preparation from barnyard millet, commonly used in fasting. Sama ki Khichdi, also known as Moraiyo Khichdi, is usually made during fasting days like Sharavan, Ekadashi or Navratri.

This savoury Khichdi made with Sama Ke Chawal and Potatoes.

Next, put the rice in the mixer jar.

Take ½ cup of curd to blend the rice into a fine mixture.

You can have Samak Rice Chikki using 6 ingredients and 7 steps. Here is how you achieve that.

Ingredients of Samak Rice Chikki

  1. You need 3 cups of samak rice.

  2. You need 1 cup of grated jaggery.

  3. Prepare 10 pcs of chopped almonds.

  4. Prepare 10 pcs of chopped pista.

  5. It’s 2 tsp of pure ghee.

  6. Prepare 1 tsp of water.

Do not add the whole ½ cup of curd in the mixer at once.

Add some curd to the mixer and blend and repeat until the entire ½ cup of curd is well-blended with rice.

Once the water is used up till level of the rice grains, reduce the heat to low and cover to cook till all the water is absorbed.

Til gud chikki is my all time favorite and yours look perfect.. it is a popular Gujarati snack often made from a batter of chana dal and rice that is fermented overnight.

Samak Rice Chikki step by step

  1. Take a nonstick pan add samak rice,then dry roast till golden colour..

  2. Then add chopped pista and almonds roast for few seconds keep a side..

  3. Take a pan add ghee and grated jaggery melt add 1tsp water mix well..

  4. Then add dry roasted samak rice mix well..

  5. Take a greased tray pour samak batter then spread in wooden spatula..

  6. After 5 minutes cut in pcs..

  7. Then enjoy and store in a container..

It's quick. its none other than the barnyard millet also locally known as Sama, Samai and Samak ke Chawal.

Trust me, adding a little of these tiny pearls give the dosa.
