All you need is any white flesh fish, tamarind paste, grated coconut, green chilies, onion, refined oil, water and a melange of spices and you are good to go.

Ingredients of Goan Fish Curry

  1. It’s 1 of medium size whole pomfret fish, cleaned, washed & drained.

  2. You need To taste of Salt and red chilli powder.

  3. It’s 1/2 tsp of Turmeric powder.

  4. Prepare 1 tsp of Lemon juice.

  5. You need 3/4 cup of fresh grated coconut.

  6. You need 4-5 of kashmiri red chilies, soaked for 30 minutes.

  9. You need 1 inch of ginger.

  10. Prepare 1-2 of green chilies.

  11. Prepare 1/4 tsp of whole peppercorns.

  12. Prepare 1 tsp of tamarind paste.

  13. It’s 1 tbsp of coriander seeds.

  14. It’s 1 tsp of cumin seeds.

  15. It’s 1 1/2 cup of water.

  16. It’s 1 tsp of coriander leaves, chopped to garnish.

  1. Marinate the fish with a pinch of salt, turmeric powder. red chilli powder and lime juice for 5-10 minutes..

  2. Grind together all the remaining ingredients into a fine paste & keep aside..

  3. Heat a pan & pour the paste along with the water & simmer for 8-10 min..

  4. Add the marinated fish and simmer further for 7-8 minutes..

  5. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve with hot steamed rice..
