Recipe: Appetizing Kabsa Delicious, fresh and tasty.

Kabsa. Kabsa (Arabic: كبسة ‎ kabsah) is a mixed rice dish that originates from Saudi Arabia but is commonly regarded as a national dish in many Arab states of the Persian Gulf. The dish is made with rice and meat. It can often be found served in countries such as Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Yemen, southern Iraq, Ahwaz and in the Negev desert in Israel.

This is a great recipe and the spicing was utterly perfect.

I marinated the chicken overnight in some lime/garlic/kabsa spice and then threw it on the grill to pick up some additional flavor before doing the steps in the recipe.

Kabsa is a fragrant rice dish that can be made with chicken, lamb or beef.

You can have Kabsa using 21 ingredients and 6 steps. Here is how you cook it.

Ingredients of Kabsa

  1. Prepare 1 of Chicken (with skin).

  2. You need 1/2 tsp of Turmeric powder.

  3. You need 2 cups of Basmati rice.

  4. It’s 1 of Onion (finely chopped).

  5. You need 1 of Tomato (make into puree).

  6. It’s 2 tbsp of Garlic paste.

  7. Prepare 1 1/2 tbsp of Ginger paste.

  8. You need 2 of Green chillies (finely chopped).

  9. You need 2 inch of cinnamon stick.

  10. You need 5 of Cloves.

  11. It’s 3 of Cardamom.

  12. It’s 2 tsp of Pepper corns.

  13. It’s 1 of Dry lemon.

  14. It’s 3 of Bay leaves.

  15. It’s 1/2 tsp of Garam Marsala powder.

  16. It’s 1/2 tsp of Black pepper Powder.

  17. Prepare 1/2 tsp of Coriander powder.

  18. It’s 3 tbsp of Veg Oil.

  19. You need 2 tbsp of Ghee.

  20. It’s 3 cups of Water (for 2 cup rice).

  21. You need to taste of Salt.

This one pot meal is very popular in the gulf area of the Arabian-peninsula such as in Dubai, Bahrain, Oman, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and many more countries.

Al kabsa (or kabsa) is a traditional delicious chicken and rice dish from Saudi Arabia that is prepared with raisins, almonds, pistachios and pine nuts.

It is considered the king of Saudi and Middle Eastern cuisines for its delicious flavor.

The main ingredients of al kabsa are long grain rice and meat, preferably chicken.

Kabsa instructions

  1. Make some gashes on chicken & marinate the chicken with salt & turmeric powder. Keep it in fridge for 1-12 hours..

  2. Soak basmathi rice for half an hour and allow to drain..

  3. Heat non-stick vessel, add ghee & oil and then the whole spices (cinnanmon, cardamom, cloves, peppercorns & bay leaves) Saute onion, ginger garlic paste & chopped green chillies. Follow this with the tomato puree. Mix well..

  4. Add chicken pieces into it and cook it for 10 mints by frequent flipping. Pour the boiled water. Add in dry lemon, garam masala powder, pepper powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder and salt. Keep it covered & cook in medium to low flame..

  5. Gently remove the cooked chicken & add in the rice. Keep it covered & cook in low flame..

  6. Serve by placing the chicken on the top of rice…
