Chanar Dalna, a Bengali dish is made of Chana also known as Paneer or Cottage cheese along with potatoes and cooked in Bengali spices.

You need 1 big bowl of chena.

It’s 2 large of Potatoes.

You need 2 tbsp of refined flour.

It’s 1 tsp of garam masala powder.

You need 1 of tomato chopped.

It’s 1 tsp of red chilli Powder.

Prepare 1 tsp of ginger paste.

Prepare 1/4 tsp of asafoetida.

You need 1/2 tsp of turmeric powder.

It’s 1 tsp of cumin seed.

Prepare 1 of bay leaf.

Prepare 1 of red chilli.

It’s 1 handful of whole garam masalas.

Prepare As needed of oil and ghee.
This curry can be served with rice or roti and is quite simple to make if you have the chana ready in the refrigerator.
You can make cottage cheese in advance and stock it up in the freezer for later use.
Serve Chanar Dalna with steamed rice and Bengali Luchi.
Heat until the water is clearly separated from the milk.
Chanar dalna step by step

Mash the chena well and add sugar,garam masala powder,ginger and flour.

Now form balls and deep fry,keep aside.

Now fry the Potatoes and keep aside.

Add oil in the same pan and temper cumin seed bay leaf red chilli whole and whole garam masalas.

Add ginger paste and cumin powder and saute.

Add tomato and red chilli Powder and mix well.

Now add water and boil.

Add Potatoes and paneer balls and simmer adding sugar.

Add ghee and garam masala powder and switch off.

Serve with pullav or paratha.
Take a metal strainer, and strain the water.
Chanar dalna is a Bengali dish with cottage cheese balls in a tomato spiced gravy.
Good with rice or flat breads, it is a real winner.
How to make chanar dalna : Heat up oil and fry the potatoes lightly and keep aside.
