Add in 1 teaspoon of mustard seeds and wait till they crackle.

Add in a sprig of curry leaves.

Add in a cup of finely chopped onions and sauté till they turn translucent..

Now add in 1/2 cup of chopped tomatoes and cook till they turn mushy..

Add in 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder.

Add 1/4 teaspoon red chilli powder.

Add 1/2 teaspoon garam masala.

Add 1 teaspoon coriander powder.

Add in a pinch of asafoetida.

Add salt as per taste.

Add in a tablespoon of chopped cilantro leaves and mix well.

Add in 1/2 a cup of water and mix well.
