How to Winter To Try At Home Spinach Stir Fry (Methi) Delicious, fresh and tasty.

Ingredients of Spinach Stir Fry (Methi)

  1. Prepare 1 tablespoon of raw peanuts.

  2. You need 3 tablespoons of oil.

  3. You need 250 g of finely chopped spinach leaves.

  4. Prepare of Salt as per taste.

  5. It’s Pinch of sugar.

  6. Prepare 1/2 cup of finely chopped onions.

  7. You need 1/4 cup of peeled and diced potatoes.

  8. Prepare 1 teaspoon of minced garlic.

  9. It’s 1 teaspoon of ginger.

  10. Prepare of or.

  11. It’s 1 tablespoon of ginger garlic paste.

  12. You need 1/4 teaspoon of turmeric powder.

  13. Prepare 1 teaspoon of coriander powder.

  14. You need 1 teaspoon of cumin powder.

Finally garnish it with coconut & cilantro.

Serve this simple stir-fry as a side dish for rice, roti or any other Indian bread.

Stir-frying other greens with this technique: You can stir-fry other soft greens with this technique, like arugula, romaine lettuce, or watercress.

Spinach Stir Fry (Methi) step by step

  1. Heat an empty small pan.

  2. Add in 1 tablespoon of raw peanuts and dry roast.

  3. Remove and keep aside.

  4. Heat 3 tablespoons of oil in a saucepan.

  5. Add in 1/2 cup of chopped onions and sauté till it gets translucent.

  6. Add in 1 teaspoon of minced ginger and 1 teaspoon of minced garlic OR 1 tablespoon of ginger garlic paste and sauté till the raw smell fades away.

  7. Add in the roasted peanuts and mix well.

  8. Add in 1/4 cup of peeled and diced potatoes. (I haven’t added potatoes here. Because I didn’t have any 🙈🙈).

  9. Cook and cover till the potatoes are tender.

  10. Add in 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder.

  11. 1 teaspoon of coriander powder.

  12. Add in 1 teaspoon of cumin powder.

  13. If the mixture is getting too dry, add in a tablespoon of water (ONLY).

  14. Add in salt as per taste.

  15. Add in chopped spinach leaves. (Here I’m using readymade cubes).

  16. Cover and cook till the spinach is cooked well. (Do not add any more water. The spinach will release water by itself).

  17. When the spinach is cooked, turn off the flame and add in a pinch of sugar and mix well..

  18. Serve hot with chappatis (Indian flat bread) (check out my recipe for Chappatis).

  19. Can be served as a side dish with dal and steamed rice. (Check out my recipe for Dal).

Add more flavor: Try stir-frying a teaspoon of minced fresh ginger along with the garlic.

You can also season the finished spinach with soy sauce or tamari, or make a quick sauce of equal parts rice wine, chicken broth, and soy sauce and add this.

But today's dish is a simple stir fry made with methi or fenugreek greens.

As you all know fenugreek leaves are rich in iron and nutrients.

They are very good for health.
