But in this Lauki Kofta I have pan fried them in a Non-Stick Kuzhi Paniyaram Pan and simmer the kofta's in a quick and simple spiced tomato gravy.

The Lauki/Doodhi kofta's are big favourite in my family, and considering they are non-fried.

I guess t astes evolve. 🙂 Today I am sharing a healthy version of lauki ke kofte - kofta curry prepared with non fried koftas.

Vegetarian lauki/bottle gourd dumplings are tossed in onion-tomato based rich gravy and can be enjoyed with hot chapatis or serve it over bed of hot rice.

  1. For koftas, mix all the ingredients and make balls..

  2. Take a paddu/appe pan, add little oil and cook koftas until done.

  3. For gravy, in a oil add half masalas, onion, tomato, cashew, water and cook until soft. Cool the mixture completely and make puree in a blender..

  4. In a same pan, add oil, remaining half masala, ginger garlic paste, puree and cook until masala leaves oil. After add water kasuri methi, salt and cook for 5minutes..

  5. While serving add koftas into gravy..

We can also do this with usual onion-tomato gravy, but I tried making this as no onion no garlic so that we can even make this yummy dish on the fasting days also.
