My mother does not prepare this Dhal rice, I came to know of this dish only after marriage from my sister-in-law.
This is a quick fix dinner/lunch and even bachelors can prepare this as it does not.

You need of Red Gram(Thuvaram Parupu) soak for 30mins.

Prepare of Rice.

Prepare of green chillies.

It’s of Red Chillies.

You need of onion.

Prepare of tomato.

You need of garlic cloves.

You need of Jeera.

It’s of Cinnamom.

Heat oil in a pressure cooker and temper with mustard seeds, cumin seeds, urad dal, channa dal, dry red chillies and curry leaves.saute for a minute.
Add chopped onion,green chillies and garlic cloves and saute until soft.
To that,add chopped tomato and saute until soft Those are toor dal and rice.
We add ground paste and coconut to the Toor dal rice.

In cooker add ghee, mustard,jira,pepper,green chilli,red chilli and fry well..

Add the garlic and onion..

Add 1 spoon salt,Half spoon turmeric powder..

Mix well until it turns brownish and add tomato.Mix well and keep it in low flame for few minutes..

Take the soaked red Gram and 1 cup of rice,add it to the cooker.

Since we have already soaked red gram in water,no need to add water separately for Red gram.Add 2 cups of water for one glass of Rice in cooker..

Boil for sometime and then close the cooker and keep it for 2 whitsle..

Arisi Parupu sadham is now Ready..
I prefer thuvaramparuppu sadham for lunch and arisiparuppu sadham for dinner.
The former is more spicy version of Arisi paruppu sadham.
If you are in a hurry, you should go for arisi paruppu sadham.
In a pressure cooker heat oil.
When the mustard crackles, add curry leaves, asefoetida, red chili and chopped onion.
