  1. You need of Moong Dal cooked.

  2. It’s of tamarind extract.

  3. You need of sea salt.

  4. Prepare of green chillies.

  5. Prepare of curry leaves.

  6. It’s of sesame oil.

  7. It’s of mustard seeds.

  8. It’s of asafoetida compounded pellet.

  9. It’s of fenugreek seeds.

  10. Prepare of chillies dry red.

Today, I have not added any vegetable, but this kind of masiyal tastes so good if cooked with sennai kizhangu or karunai.

Take Thuvar (toor dhal) or green gram dhal and cook till soft.

Paruppu Masiyal (South Indian style Moong Dal) step by step

  1. Make the above mentioned Pre requisites ready, itll take about 15 minues to make them ready..

  2. Take a kadaai, keep it on medium heat. Add sesame oil and get the tempering ready..

  3. First add the compounded asafoetida, then crackle the mustard seeds along with fenugreek seeds and dry red chillies. Later add the chopped green chillies and curry leaves..

  4. Now add in the tamarind extract to this and allow it to boil until the raw smell goes. Add required amount of salt..

  5. Now add in the cooked moong dal to this and mix. Allow this to steep in medium heat for 5 minutes.Take  it off the heat and serve it hot with plain rice..

Remove the roots and wash the keerai thoroughly.
