This is one of the delicious vegan dishes many Sri Lankans, especially Tamil people often make for lunch.

This kuzhambu recipe would be ideal for bachelors and working women to whip up a quick gravy for rice.

So lets see how to make Tamil nadu style Murungakkai puli kuzhambu / Drumstick gravy for rice with step by step pictures.

Drumstick Curry/Murungakkai Mor Kuzhambu instructions

  1. Take drumstick in a sauce pan cover with water, salt, and turmeric powder, cook till drumstick is done..

  2. Grind the coconut, raw rice, cumin seeds, coriander seeds and red chillies into a smooth paste..

  3. Add a little warm water to help it grind well. Add the yogurts the coconut mixture..

  4. Add coconut mixture in cooked drumstick into a sauce pan and mix well. Bring it to boil. Turn off the heat..

  5. Heat oil and add in all seasoning ingridents and cook till golden..

  6. Pour the it over the and mix well..

  7. Serve Murungakkai mor kuzhambu with rice..
