To cook your oxtail, heat a large pan or Dutch oven to high heat with the vegetable oil.

Ingredients of Pan cooked Oxtail

  1. It’s 1 lb of Oxtail.

  2. It’s 1/4 cup of browning or soy sauce(taste better with browning sauce).

  3. Prepare 2 tbsp of oxtail seasoning or your fav seasoning.

  4. Prepare 1/2 tbsp of salt ๐Ÿง‚.

  5. Prepare 1 tbsp of black pepper.

  6. It’s 1 tbsp of paprika.

  7. You need 1 tbsp of cumming.

  8. You need 1 tbsp of garlic powder.

  9. You need 4 tbsp of cooking oil.

  10. Prepare 1 box of chicken stock (32oz).

  11. You need 1/2 cup of chopped carrots ๐Ÿฅ•.

  12. It’s 1/2 cup of chopped onion ๐ŸŒฐ.

  13. You need 1/2 cup of chopped bell peppers.

  14. Prepare 1 of glove garlic.

  15. You need 1 can of buttered bean.

Transfer the browned oxtail to a plate and set aside.

Next pour the vegetable oil into a large pan, and place the pan over medium heat.

Once the oil is nice and hot, add the oxtails in, and brown them.

Once the oxtails are nice and brown remove them from the pan, and put them in the slow cooker.

Pan cooked Oxtail step by step

  1. Wash oxtail, then add powdered seasonings and browning unto oxtail meat and mix well. Allow meat ๐Ÿ– to marinate overnight or 1hr.

  2. Pour cooking oil to pan and let hot,then add the oxtail and allow to brown/sear for 4mins on each side. Add chicken or beef stock and cover and allow to cook for 4 to 5hrs or until meat is tender. Cook in medium to low heat add water or stock when necessary..

  3. Once meat is tender add chopped onions, carrots ๐Ÿฅ•, bell peppers, garlic and cover. Simmer for 10mins. Then add beans and cover for another 2mins. ENJOY!!.

Return back to the pan with the hot oil.

I've had some pretty good ones at Jamaican restaurants but because they are so expensive I wanted to make my own.
